Thune boner forces Fort Pierre into tribal flap

The election of GOPer John Thune forced the Wakpa Sica Reconciliation Place into bankruptcy.
Complaints from neighbors led to discussion by the Fort Pierre City Council Monday on what should be done with the Wakpa Sica building and grounds in the north part of Fort Pierre. City crews can’t set foot on the grounds without permission because it is designated as tribal trust land. A governing board had been set up for the Wakpa Sica site when the project began, and that was led by the late Lower Brule Sioux Tribal Chairman Michael Jandreau. The board has not met for some time due to a lack of funds. [KCCR Radio News]
South Dakota talks truth and justice but its actions are just ducks in the wind.

Randy Seiler, US Attorney for the District of South Dakota, sits as Fort Pierre's Ward III Alderman.

Seiler's predecessor, Brendan Johnson, is an interested party in Jandreau's affairs.
